Horizontal Wet Scrubber – Horizontal Gas-Flow Scrubbing

Horizontal Wet Scrubber is an industrial exhaust gas treatment device that uses a horizontal gas-flow configuration. Pollutant-laden exhaust gas enters from one side of the equipment and passes sequentially through the Spray Section, Packing or other gas–liquid contact zones, and the mist elimination section inside the Scrubber Body, transferring pollutants from the gas phase to the liquid phase through dissolution, absorption, or chemical reaction.

Compared with conventional vertical scrubbers, the horizontal configuration has a lower overall height and can be arranged horizontally along the plant floor or equipment platform, making it particularly suitable for projects with limited installation height, existing horizontally routed ductwork, or a need for a low-profile equipment layout.

The horizontal wet scrubber mainly consists of the following components:

• Scrubber Body: Houses the Packing, Spray System, and Mist Eliminator, and provides space for gas–liquid contact.
• Packing Layer: The core gas–liquid mass-transfer zone of the Scrubber.
• Spray System: Consists of spray piping and nozzles, distributing the recirculating liquid evenly over the top of the Packing Layer.
• Mist Eliminator: Removes liquid droplets entrained in the treated gas.
• Recirculation Tank: Stores and collects the Scrubbing Liquid.
• Recirculation Pump: Returns the Scrubbing Liquid from the Recirculation Tank to the Spray System.
• Chemical Dosing System: Different absorbents are added according to the type of gas being treated.
