Pall Ring Packing – High Mass Transfer Efficiency, Low Pressure Drop & High Compatibility

Pall ring packing is a common type of random tower packing, developed on the basis of Raschig ring packing Raschig Ring Packing. These open-ring packings share equal height and diameter, featuring five inwardly curved tongues (or "windows") on each layer. The tongues are bent toward the center of the ring, and the windows are staggered between upper and lower layers. The total open area typically accounts for about 30% of the ring’s wall surface. It offers excellent gas-liquid distribution and mass transfer efficiency, making it one of the most widely used industrial packings.

Features
  • High mass transfer efficiency. The open structure increases the gas-liquid contact area, while internal turbulence tongues ensure thorough mixing and dispersion of gas and liquid on the packing surface, thus enhancing mass transfer performance.
  • High porosity and low pressure drop. The optimized structural design typically achieves a porosity above 90%, resulting in low resistance to gas flow and reduced operating energy consumption, making it suitable for high airflow systems.
  • Uniform gas-liquid distribution. The porous structure facilitates gas dispersion and even liquid distribution, preventing 'wall flow' and 'channeling', thus improving operational efficiency.
  • High anti-clogging capacity. With its open structure, pall ring packing is less prone to liquid or dust accumulation, suitable for operating conditions involving particulates or viscous materials.
  • Flexible material options. Available in PP, PVC, stainless steel, ceramic, and other materials to meet diverse temperature, corrosion, and pressure needs.
